Do you have something in your life that you have a love/hate relationship with? For me, this is camping. In the beginning of our relationship, I was "all about it," but really I just wanted any chance to be near James. My best friend, Tate, says it all too well in her speech at our rehearsal dinner, "James- thanks for being the person to get Mer outside more." James, calls what we did glamping......but we have very different versions of glamping
For about four months now, our family has started on a wellness journey. Since college, I had developed an unhealthy fear. Fear of the worst possible scenarios. Fear of my dearest & most treasured people leaving this world at any given moment. Fear of movie theaters. Fear of traveling. Fear of any minimal discomfort in my body. Fear. Anxiety. It was constant. Because a huge part of my fears stemmed from thoughts about my health, I began to be REAL curious about my eating habits. During our journey to clean eating, I was in the midst of researching Young Living essential oils.
In April, my husband and I decided to do something crazy to our bodies...we tried a 3 day juice cleanse. Now, my husband had done juicing before, so he knew where to start. We researched the best recipes, shopped for fruits & veggies, purchased the mason jars, and blended our first 2 days worth. Let me explain, 2 days worth...for 2 people....meant SIXTEEN jars of juice meals.
Day T H R E E started off very similar as day two...RAINY! So, James and I headed downstairs to grab breakfast at Grits & Grind. At breakfast, we brainstormed ideas of what to do on another rainy beach day...our inclusion? Drive to the store, buy an umbrella, and get our bums on the beach!
I haven't been to many other beaches that feel like home. Going on our 4th year of marriage, James and I have really loved experiencing new places; the food, the atmosphere, and the adventure is something that feeds our soul. The past 3 years of our beach vacation we have chosen a different spot. This year, we picked Seacrest Beach.
